Stanced clownshoe. I wonder how he got his inspection passed.

I’m okay with this.

Well it isn't that bad.

My guess would be different “TÜV” wheels. But all in all, the wheels aren’t wider than the fenders so there’s a chance that it passed like that.

It could be running air instead of a static ride height.

Simple. Revert it back to acceptable for the inspection, reapply stance after inspection.

That doesn’t always work out though. The police sure love to mess with people whose cars look slightly different than stock.

I can't tell if it is better or worse. Lipstick on a pig scenario I guess.

Seems very time consuming. But that’s probably how they do it. Don’t get busted by the cops though.

Someone needs to rescue that ... a respray and a standard suspension would do wonders.

I’m not sure but I think the color is original.
Edit: it’s indeed a color offered by BMW called “Mintgrün”

I don't hate that color.

That is an odd choice for a relatively conservative German automaker. It’s an odd choice period. Chances of resale = poor.

The whole car was odd. The original owner must have been an eccentric. I actually would have chosen a similar color:

Why wouldn’t he? I don’t know about TÜV inspections but usually if the tyres don’t extend beyond the bodywork you’re OK.

He might get some trouble with his wheels and tires. Getting wider wheels on a car is a pita to get them registered.

I’d go white, but I usually do ... or maybe burgundy ... I don’t know.

Solid choices, these look good on a lot of cars. On one hand, resale value is a bitch if your car has an undesirable color. On the other hand, ordering your car in a boring color just to have a good resale value is kinda like dating someone just to please others (stupid comparison, I know).

Nope - not stupid at all - burgundy resells well, and the rest of ‘em I forget ... and if I’m going to order a car, it’ll have everything I want regardless of whether it’ll resell well.

And an ex who worked in the auto business also said dark blue sold well. My ‘87 300D did not prove that out. Today? I’d just go with white, like I said. Black shows the dirt. And there’s a burnt orange Mercedes used to do ....

In the old world the colors with resale guarantee are silver, grey, dark blue and of course black. White used to be not that popular up until a few years ago.

Black, grey, silver, dark blue, and if you’re beeing silly/daring, red.
I always complain about it, but in the end, all my cars have been black, silver, blue, or red. I’m not part of the cure, therefore I’m part of the disease. At least my Bel air is turquoise, but it’s a 60s car, so that’s expected.

I don’t know anyone whose car isn’t either one of those colors. The most exciting color I regularly see is an orange Opel Kadett City. But that’s about it. I wish that more cars would be green or orange. My mother regularly mistakes other cars for ours..

My sister has a mossgreen 306 sw, other thant that, there are no real exotics. The day i’ll respray my 505 (someday, hopefully) it will become “jaune vermeer”, a golden yellow metallic PSA used on the 106, 306, Saxo, and others.

My ex gf has got a 307 in that puke green color. That jaune vermeer is a bit too much for my taste but not bad though.
